Driver Hurt After Swerving His Van Onto Sidewalk in S.F. Castro District

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- A van drove onto the sidewalk on Castro Street near Market Street around 3:15 p.m. Saturday, striking several parking meters and damaging a deli across from the Castro Theatre.
The driver of the van sustained minor injuries and is cooperating with police.
No pedestrians were reported hurt.
It's believed a mechanical problem may have played a role in the crash.
