Discounted A's, Giants Tickets Part Of World Autism Awareness Day

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The world will light up blue Wednesday for the seventh annual World Autism Awareness Day, and Bay Area baseball teams are joining in the celebration with discounted game tickets.

WAAD "shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis," according to Autism Speaks.

The United Nations designated April 2nd as one of only four official health-specific United Nations Days as a way to bring attention to the pervasive disorder, and celebrate the talents and skills of people with autism.

Participants are encouraged to wear blue to mark the day.

The San Francisco Giants are offering discounted tickets for May 27th, and the Oakland A's are offering discounts for April 5th.  Tickets are available here.
