Worker At Berkeley Home Charged With Lewd Act On 5-Year-Old Girl

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A worker at a home in Berkeley's Elmwood neighborhood is facing four felony sex crimes after allegedly performing lewd acts on the 5-year-old daughter of a housekeeper.

Court documents revealed that Dario Lambur-Castillo was arrested at the house on Woolsey Street after the youngster told her mom he touched her inappropriately. Through a translator, the girl described him as "the man in the hat," which led police to Lambur-Castillo because he was the only one at the house who wore a hat.

Lambur-Castillo told detectives he put his hand down the girl's pants but "it was accidental and nothing else sexual occurred," according to Berkeleyside.

The alleged sex crimes happened in early April. Lambur-Castillo has been held at Santa Rita jail without bail since April 6. He is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on May 19 in Oakland.
