Women Arrested After Crashing Pickup Truck Into San Leandro Liquor Store

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A San Leandro woman was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after police said she crashed her pickup truck into a San Leandro liquor store.

Police have not identified the 40-year-old woman, pending the results of toxicology tests.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the House of Liquors at 1167 Manor Blvd., where police said the woman entered the store, purchased an item and returned to her pickup truck.

Police said she tried to drive away but ended up crashing into the business.

There were no serious injuries in the crash. Witnesses told investigators they heard the truck's engine revving just before the crash.

Arriving officers located the woman next to the truck and with the keys in her possession, police said.

Officers said the woman appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

She was transported to a hospital for minor medical treatment and was later cited for the incident, police said.
