Woman Shot In Fremont, 2 Schools Briefly Locked Down

FREMONT (CBS SF) – Fremont police are investigating a shooting Tuesday morning that seriously injured a woman and prompted the brief lockdown of two nearby schools.

Officers responded at 9:03 a.m. to a report of a shooting inside a home in the 4400 block of Inyo Court.

They arrived to find a woman suffering a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with injuries that are considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect, described only as a male, remains at large, according to police.

Nearby Brier Elementary School at 39201 Sundale Drive and the adjacent Glankler Early Learning Center at 39207 Sundale Drive were locked down for about 40 minutes this morning as a precaution, police said.
