Woman Pulled From Water At Ocean Beach Dies

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A fully-clothed woman was pulled from the water at San Francisco's Ocean Beach Wednesday morning but died after being rushed to the hospital, according to a fire department spokesman.

A call came in reporting a fully clothed person floating about 20 yards out in the water at Ocean Beach off of Lincoln Way, San Francisco Fire Lt. Jonathan Baxter said.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was pulled from the water by National Park Service personnel and emergency responders performed CPR, Baxter said. He said the woman was being taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Authorities later confirmed that she died at the hospital. Her identity has not been determined.
