Woman Killed, Man Wounded In Separate Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating two separate shootings in which a woman was killed and a man was wounded in Oakland on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7800 block of Garfield Avenue in the city's Eastmont neighborhood around 9:30 p.m., Officer J. Moore said.

The woman was transported for her injuries and pronounced dead around 11:15 p.m., Moore said.

Another shooting near 32nd Street and San Pablo Avenue in West Oakland was reported around 9:30 p.m., he said.

A man found with a gunshot wound transported himself to a hospital where he is in stable condition, Moore said.

No arrests have been made in either shooting and an investigation is ongoing.
