Woman Killed In I-280 Crash Near Hillsborough

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- A 31-year-old woman died Sunday afternoon in a crash on southbound Interstate Highway 280 just west of Hillsborough, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The first report of the crash came in at 2:43 p.m. on I-280 just south of Black Mountain Road in the San Francisco State Fish & Game Refuge, CHP officials said.

The woman lost control of the vehicle she was driving and crashed into a guardrail, CHP Officer Art Montiel said. The woman died at the crash site, he said.

A passenger in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, Montiel said.
