Woman Robbed At Gunpoint, Forced Into Car Before Sexual Assault In Union City

UNION CITY (CBS SF) -- A female victim was held up at gunpoint outside a Union City Walmart store and then forced to drive to a secluded area where she was sexually assaulted on Saturday night, police said.

The victim had just walked out of the Walmart store at 30600 Dyer St. around 8:15 p.m. when the suspect approached her at her car in the parking lot, police said.

The suspect demanded that she give him her belongings, and he then assaulted her. He showed her he had a handgun and ordered her to get into her car and drive to a nearby neighborhood in the Casa Verde area near San Luces and San Carlos ways.

He then sexually assaulted the victim in the vehicle, police said.

The suspect then ran away and has not been found. Police have not released a detailed description of the suspect.

The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police responded to the hospital to interview the victim about the attack.
