Search Continues For Rodeo Woman Who Escaped Police At Martinez Jail

SAN PABLO (CBS SF) -- Police are searching for a woman who escaped police custody Friday at a jail in Martinez.

Around 7:10 p.m. jail staff was dropping off a suspect, 29-year-old Nyilah Hutcherson of Rodeo, to the Martinez Detention Facility, when the handcuffed prisoner escaped and fled.

According to police a search by foot, car and airship ensued, but was called off after a few hours due to the non-violent nature of the suspect's original alleged crimes.

Hutcherson is described as being five foot seven inches, weighing 120 pounds, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt and black pants.

Police said she is not considered a threat to society.
