Woman Arrested In Connection To Teen Shooting Death At SF Park

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police have made an arrest in a May shooting that killed an 18-year-old in San Francisco's McLaren Park.

Silvia Lorena Montoya, 42, of San Francisco, has been arrested in connection with the May 31 murder of Balboa High School student Jonathan Caballero, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded May 31 at 6:45 a.m. to a trail just off John F. Shelley Drive on a report of a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers located Caballero unconscious and bleeding, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

During a two-month investigation, homicide investigators developed probable cause to arrest Montoya for Caballero's murder, police said.

She was located in San Francisco and taken into custody, police said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact call police at (415) 553-1145.
