Witness Helps Police Arrest Vacaville Truck Theft Suspect

VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a 34-year-old man Thursday in Vacaville after an officer witnessed him driving a stolen truck, police said.

Around 3:15 p.m., an observant officer noticed a suspicious truck parked in a residential neighborhood near Southwood Drive and Sherwood Court, according to police.

After researching the truck's license plate number, the officer learned the truck had been stolen from a Fairfield business last week, police said.

The officer stayed at the scene and eventually observed a man, later identified as Shiloh Girardot, get in the truck and drive away, according to police.

The officer stopped the truck and inside, found more than $4,000 worth of stolen property taken from the same Fairfield business during last week's burglary, police said.

The officer then arrested Girardot, who was on probation, on suspicion of possessing stolen property, possession of burglary tools and violating probation, according to police.
