Windshield Crack Forces Oakland-To-Honolulu Flight To Divert To Mineta San Jose Airport

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A flight from Oakland to Hawaii was diverted to San Jose for an emergency landing when a crack developed in the windshield Sunday morning.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight 47 was scheduled to depart Oakland at 9:30 a.m., but was rerouted due to the crack, according to San Jose Mineta Airport Spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes.

All the passengers were let off the plane and given meal vouchers while maintenance crews tried to fix the problem.

Despite the delay, not all passengers were upset.

Hawaiian Airlines said they planned to swap the aircraft out with the next available plane. As of about 10 p.m., the passengers were still waiting to depart San Jose.
