Will It Rain On Bay Area Halloween Trick Or Treaters? It Depends

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Rain showers will creep up on Bay Area trick-or-treaters this Halloween evening, but they may avoid the wet weather, depending on their timing.

The next approaching front will bring widely scattered showers by the early evening in the North Bay and Peninsula coast, although the bulk of the day and evening for trick-or-treating will be dry with the rain developing, according to KPIX 5 weather anchor Roberta Gonzales.

"We should start to see the rain move into the Santa Rosa area about 5:00 in the evening hour, toward the evening commute, and then it'll slice through the central bay pretty much between 7 and 9 o'clock," said Gonzales.

The sun sets shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Halloween, so early trick-or-treaters could stay dry.

The weather will be in the form of spotty, scattered showers, along with a chance of a thunderstorm, said Gonzales.

Lingering showers were possible through Tuesday morning, followed by a warming trend.
