Which San Francisco Neighborhood Has The Most Single Millionaires?

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- If you're on the hunt for a millionaire bachelor or bachelorette, San Francisco may be a good place to start, but some neighborhoods might be better than others.

Consulting firm Wealth Engine crunched real estate and census data on the city's 1,800 millionaires to break down exactly where they're living.

Maybe surprisingly, the Haight contained the most eligible rich people, with 226 male, and 57 female millionaires for a total of 283. Lake Merced had the fewest, with just 2 millionaires, both of them men.

The Top 5 Neighborhoods to Find Eligible Millionaires:

  • The Haight
  • The Castro
  • Noe Valley
  • Pacific Heights
  • The Inner Richmond

Overall, most neighborhoods have far more male millionaires, but not all. The Sunset neighborhood's 33 women millionaires took the edge over the men, who had just 26.

The traditional centers of old wealth in the city were still holding strong, but the data showed the wealth may be moving toward the center of the city. The Haight, Castro, and Noe Valley neighborhoods contain more than a third of the city's millionaires for the top three spots on the list.
