What You Need To Know In Entertainment - June 2015

Summer officially begins this month, and the warm, sunny weather means there will be a million things to do both indoors and out. This summer brings a few Hollywood comebacks and music festivals with it to give you all the entertainment you could possibly need. Take a look at what's heating up the country this month and make some plans to check everything out.

MOVIE RELEASES

Jurassic World (June 12)

It's been almost 15 years since the last film in the "Jurassic Park" franchise hit theaters, and after a long wait, we'll all get the chance to relive our dinosaur-filled dreams. Following scientists as they try to locate a genetically-superior, hybrid dinosaur, "Jurassic World" brings plenty of action and is already pegged to become the next big blockbuster of the summer. The film should be well worth the movie ticket, and if not, Chris Pratt definitely is.

Inside Out (June 19)

Pixar is also back this summer! The last film from the animation giant was 2013's "Monsters University," but this summer's "Inside Out" will finally end the studio's short hiatus. Starring Amy Poehler, Mindy Kaling, Bill Hader and many other famous names as the inner voices and emotions in our heads, "Inside Out" tells the story of a young girl moving away from her roots and the range of emotions she goes through in this coming-of-age film.

TELEVISION EVENTS

Big Brother (June 24)

And to add to the excitement, the season comes in strong with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 25, both at 8 p.m., ET/PT. Only time will reveal who the next houseguests will be and if their skills can match past contestants' tricks and schemes.

Under The Dome (June 25)

"Under the Dome" returns for its third season with a special two-hour premiere on its new night, Thursday, June 25 at 9 p.m., ET/PT. Zoo (June 30)

"Zoo," a new drama based on the #1 bestselling novel by James Patterson, makes its television debut Tuesday, June 30 at 9 p.m., ET/PT. In the new series, a wave of violent animal attacks against humans begins taking place across the globe. AWARD SHOWS

Tony Awards (June 7)

From A-lister Bradley Cooper's turn in "The Elephant Man" to the oldest nominated actress Chita Rivera in "The Visit," this year's show will be a tough one to win. Taken along with hilarious hosts Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming, as well as some once-in-a-lifetime performances, the Tony's will be an event that's not to be missed. MUSIC FESTIVALS

Governors Ball (June 5)

What do Drake, Lana del Rey and The Black Keys have in common? They're each headlining Governors Ball in New York City, and if that's not enough to convince you how huge the music festival is, maybe other names like Florence + The Machine, Deadmau5, Charli XCX and Kiesza will. It's not too late to buy single-day tickets if you haven't already, but hurry, because the festival is right around the corner!

Bonnaroo (June 11)

Bonnaroo has come a long way since it was first introduced in 2002. Growing in popularity and headlining big names like Billy Joel, Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and many others, the Tennessee-rooted festival isn't looked over anymore. Tickets aren't sold out completely, so head over and grab them now. Like, right now!
