What Are The Safest Cars For Teen Drivers?

(KPIX 5) -- A list of the safest cars for teenage drivers has been released.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety published their list, recommending parents choose bigger cars with safety features like electronic stability control.

The best choices under $20,000 include the 2010 or later Saab 9-5 sedan, the 2012 or later Toyota Prius, and the 2013 or later Honda CR-V.

Topping the list at under $10,000 were the 2009 Mercury Sable, 2009 Subaru Legacy, and 2008 or later Nissan Rogues.
