Man Tries To Ram San Francisco Police Car As Officers Respond To Car Theft

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man tried to ram into a San Francisco police car in the city's Western Addition neighborhood Saturday night, police said Monday.

Officers were responding to a possible car theft in progress in the 1300 block of Webster Street around 10:35 p.m. Saturday when the incident occurred, police said.

The officers were searching a parking lot when the suspect, a man in his 20s, drove at the marked police vehicle while driving a silver SUV the wrong way down Webster Street, police said.

The suspect did not succeed in hitting the patrol car and drove away. He was last seen driving toward Market and Gough streets and remains at large, police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, police said.
