Weekend Storm Brings Spectacular Waterfalls To Mill Valley Home's Backyard

MILL VALLEY (KPIX 5) -- A powerful and wet weekend storm added a spectacular sight to a Mill Valley backyard, with two sizeable waterfalls flowing just two feet from a home.

Dan DiPaola's desk gives him a view of not one, but two waterfalls roaring behind his garage, and toward his home.

"This won't let you take your eyes off it because of this freight train sound that it's got going.  Every once in a while it pummels and shakes the house," DiPaola told KPIX 5's Don Knapp.

When the DiPaola family moved in a year ago, all they saw in their backyard was overgrown brush.  But, clearing it away they discovered walkways, streams, and bridges.  They had an idea they had falls, but no idea they could get so big.

The family even gave the falls a name.

"We've officially named this place Miwok Falls," said DiPaola.
