Weary Curry, Green And Thompson Arrive For All-Star Game

TORONTO (CBS-SF) – A sleepy Steph Curry took to social media early Thursday to let fans know he and his teammates have arrived in frigid Toronto for the NBA All-Star Game.

Curry, Green, Thompson led a small Warriors entourage onto the private charter in Phoenix hours after defeating the Suns 112-104 to end the first half of the season with an NBA record 48-44 record.

"We just arrives at 6 (a.m.) in Toronto," he said. "I think it's a negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but we are going to make it. It's a long weekend. A lot of fun."

After Wednesday's night win both Curry and Thompson expressed surprised at rolling to the 48-4 record.

"We handled a lot of different challenges pretty well this first half of the season," Curry said.

Curry nearly had a triple-double -- 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists -- before sitting out the fourth quarter as the Warriors stormed into the All-Star break on an 11-game winning streak.

At 48-4, the Warriors enter the break with the best record through 52 games in NBA history, one win better than the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls and 1966-67 Philadelphia 76ers. Those Bulls finished the season with a league-record 72 wins.

Thompson added 24 points for Golden State. He called those 52 games "kind of a blur."

"It has gone by really fast," he said. "Winning obviously helps that but we couldn't have asked for a better pre-All-Star break performance. We still have some room for improvement, believe it or not, but it is really surreal to be 48-4."
