Burst Water Main Floods Shops In SF Union Square

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco Public Utilities Commission crews worked to repair a water main in Union Square Saturday morning, according to a SFPUC spokesman.

A contractor working in a building near Stockton and Geary streets hit a water main causing it to burst at about 9:30 a.m., SFPUC said.

San Francisco fire crews were also called to the scene.

Water from the main break flooded the basements of several nearby buildings, San Francisco fire officials said.
