Warriors Value Nearly Doubles In A Single Year To $1.3 Billion, Forbes Finds

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - If you think the surging win-loss record of the Warriors is impressive, check out their spike in value as reported by Forbes on their annual list of NBA valuations released Wednesday.

The publication says the Warriors are now one of 11 NBA teams worth over a billion dollars. Just a year ago, the team was the league's 9th highest rated at $750 million. A year later, they lead the league in victories on the court and are valued at $1.3 billion as a franchise, seventh highest in the league.

That number puts the team on par with what the 49ers and slightly ahead of the San Francisco Giants, based on last year's findings from Forbes.

The value of most teams on the list got a significant boost as a result of the $2 billion sale price of the Los Angeles Clippers last August.

Forbes values the Clippers at $1.6 billion, just behind the Celtics, Bulls, Knicks and Lakers, the last of which is rated highest overall at $2.6 billion.
