StubHub Accuses Warriors Of Forcing Fans To Sell Tickets On Ticketmaster

OAKLAND (CBS SF) - The secondhand ticket sales website StubHub is suing the Golden State Warriors and Ticketmaster on a claim that the team and the online ticket dealer are part of an "anti-competitive scheme."

According to StubHub's suit, a policy established by the Warriors in 2012 strongly encourages Warriors fans looking to buy or sell after-market tickets to use Ticketmaster's "Secondary Ticket Exchange," or possibly forfeit their tickets.

"The suit alleges that the team has informed season-ticket holders should they resell their tickets through anything other than Ticketmaster's exchange, NBATickets.com, they will have their ticket privileges revoked," reports ESPN.

StubHub says the number of Warriors tickets listed on StubHub has declined by 80 percent over the past year.

Warriors and Ticketmaster reportedly share fees from the resale market. Neither organization responded to a request by ESPN for comment.
