Warriors Player Draymond Green Hands Out Gifts To Homeless In East Bay

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Warriors Forward Draymond Green played the part of Santa Tuesday night, handing out gifts to people in need in the East Bay.

Green teamed up with Clorox to pay for gift cards that were presented to homeless young people living at Oakland's Covenant House.

Then, he took them shopping at a Target store in Emeryville.

"We didn't know this was happening. It was all a surprise," James Dailey, a Covenant House resident said.

23-year-old Dailey was one of the lucky ones. He's been homeless for three months, and used his $200 gift card from Green to buy his daughter a Christmas present.

"I can go to sleep with a smile on my face. It's gonna be a merry, merry Christmas, and a happy new year," Dailey said.

Green told the group he knows what they're going through.

"I wasn't always in this position, and I remember those hard times," Green said.
