Warriors Parade Forecast: Cloudy Skies, Big Party In Oakland

KPIX 5 Morning Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales answers the questions you never get to ask on-air.

Q: Hey Roberta! Will you be attending the  Warriors Parade Friday? - Staci Michaels, Oakland

A: Yes! I will be reporting from the Starting Line and I am so excited!

The City of Oakland will host a championship parade and victory rally for the NBA champion Golden State Warriors on Friday. It took 40 years for the Warriors to win the title, so the Parade has been a long time coming and I am going to savor each step!

I will be at the Starting Line which is at Broadway and 11th Street. The Parade will then flow to Grand Avenue. From there, the floats carrying Stephen Curry and his teammates will glide through Harrison to Lakeside Drive (past Lake Merritt) and finish up on Oak Street before entering the rally.

You gotta imagine Dub Nation is ready to party! I clearly remember the last time a title for the Oakland area was claimed. It was in 1989 when the Oakland A's beat the San Francisco Giants in the World Series. I was reporting weather for KNTV at the time and excitement filled the air.  But the Loma Prieta Earthquake stole the headlines.

The Warriors Championship Parade steps off at 10am Friday. It will be overcast and 60 degrees for the start of the Parade and near 67 degree at Noon. The skies will gradually clear to an afternoon high of 71 degrees in Oakland, home of the world champions!

Friday's parade will air live on KPIX 5 and online at cbsSF.com/live.

I would love to hear from you! Please send weather questions, observations and photos to me, Gonzales@kpix.cbs.com and I look forward to hearing from you!
