Warriors, Bulls Now Las Vegas Favorites To Meet For NBA Title
OAKLAND (CBS SF) - The once the league's ultimate afterthought, the Golden State Warriors are now favorites to not only make the playoffs but win the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
Gaming website Bovada's latest numbers put the Warriors and Chicago Bulls as the co-favorites to take home the NBA title this year at 5-1 each. The teams edged out the defending champion San Antonio Spurs (11-2) and preseason favorite Cleveland Cavaliers (6-1).
Prior to the season Las Vegas oddsmakers pegged the Warriors as a 25-1 bet to win it all, tied with Portland as the 8th most likely team. Now at 27-5 and 27-8 respectively the Warriors and Blazers have the best records in the NBA. The "Dubs" have topped the CBS Local power rankings for weeks.
