Warmer-Than-Average Bay Area Weather, Higher Fire Danger In Store For Early October
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Bay Area is warming up just in time for October.
Early October is historically one of the warmest times of the year in the Bay Area, and Mother Nature hasn't forgotten.
A map from the Climate Prediction Center shows the likelihood of warmer-than-average weather for the next six to ten days, according to KPIX 5 Meteorologist Paul Deanno.
"The Bay Area is very much forecast to be warmer than our early October averages through at least October 10th thanks to a large ridge of high-pressure centered over the West Coast."
The warmer weather could mean more work for California firefighters.
"It will also likely be drier than normal, which will further increase our fire danger through early October," Deanno said.
