Walnut Creek Police Seeking Witnesses To Fight At Mel's Diner

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- Police are seeking witnesses to a battery incident that happened last week in Walnut Creek and resulted in one person being hospitalized and another being arrested.

On Dec. 20 at around 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a physical altercation at Mel's Diner, located at 1394 N. Main St., according to police.

When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from serious injuries. That person was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Officers arrested a man, identified as 24-year-old Pleasant Hill resident Bryce Halliday, on suspicion of battery resulting in serious bodily injury, according to police.

After reviewing surveillance video, officers concluded there may have been witnesses to the incident. Anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault is asked to contact Detective Gabe Mauro at (925) 943-5881.
