Disturbing Video Shows Bloodied Man After Alleged Takedown By Bloomingdale's Security

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A video that surfaced of a bloodied man who was allegedly apprehended by security guards at the Bloomingdale's store in San Francisco has raised questions about excessive force.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the man had been charged before with shoplifting at the store and was recognized by an undercover security guard. He was not armed.

The man was apprehended, but SFPD spokesperson Albie Esparza said Bloomingdale's did not charge the man with shoplifting.

Police said the man was treated at SF General for non-life threatening injuries and did not file charges against the security officers. The incident is under investigation.
