Victim Dies Of Multiple Gunshot Wounds After Early-Morning Shooting In SF Mission District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A male victim died at a hospital from multiple gunshot wounds fired by an unknown assailant Saturday morning in the Inner Mission neighborhood.

Police responded at 1:30 a.m. to a shooting in the area of 16th and Valencia streets where an armed suspect shot the victim more than once before fleeing, according to Officer Gordon Shyy.

The injured male was transported to San Francisco General Hospital where he died, Shyy reported.

The Police Department is urging anyone with information about the fatal shooting to call police at (415) 553-1145.
