Veterinarian House-Calls Making Pet Care Easier For San Franciscans
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- In a city with more dogs than children, San Franciscans can find it challenging to find a veterinarian when they need one.
"I don't want to be like, oh, I'll come in at ten o'clock a week from now, that doesn't work for me," said dog owner Shannon Gallo.
BarkCare, a new in-home veterinary service launched Monday, letting pet owners use the company's website or mobile app to make an appointment for a house call.
The company charges $99 to $199 for all services, including vaccinations and exams without all the trauma of a waiting room.
"We can't see their normal behavior temperament when they're all riled up in the veterinary hospital. But, it's nice because most dogs greet me with a toy in their mouth," said BarkCare's Director of Veterinary Mecidine, Dr. Robert Proietto.
BarkCare is available for dogs and cats, but only for non-emergency health care.
