Vandal Throws Bag Of Feces, Paint At Novato Market's Meat Counter

NOVATO (CBS/AP) — A Novato supermarket was closed temporarily after a vandal tossed a bag full of feces, urine, paint and rubbing alcohol inside the store.

A hazardous material crew cleaned up the mess shortly after the incident at about 5 p.m. Sunday at the Harvest Market in Novato.

The Marin Independent Journal reports that authorities shuttered the store Sunday to investigate. Witnesses told police that a man ran into the store and threw the bag at the meat counter.

Police are looking into whether the culprit is the same person who got into a dispute with store workers Saturday.
