Vallejo Police Find No One Inside Home After Home Invasion Reported

VALLEJO (CBS SF) – Vallejo police and the Solano County Sheriff's Office were at the scene of a reported home invasion robbery for several hours Wednesday night.

When a SWAT team entered the residence around midnight, the house was empty, sheriff's Deputy Christine Castillo said.

The sheriff's office got a 911 call around 5:45 p.m. that two people with guns entered a home in the 1200 block of Belmont Avenue in an unincorporated area of the county in Vallejo, Castillo said.

The caller escaped the house but said two people were still inside the residence with the armed robbers, according to Castillo.

The neighborhood was evacuated and sheriff's deputies tried to contact anyone who was in the house, Castillo said.

The house was empty when the SWAT team entered around midnight, and investigators determined the two victims inside the residence had also fled, Castillo said.

Detectives believe the victims were targeted and are currently following up on leads, according to Castillo.

Anyone with information about the reported home invasion robbery is asked to call the sheriff's office at (707) 784-7050 or Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-STOP if they wish to remain anonymous.
