4-year-old girl critically injured in Vallejo shooting
A four-year-old girl was critically hurt in a shooting in Vallejo Sunday night, police said.
The police confirmed they were investigating a shooting that happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Mark Avenue and Sawyer Street in North Vallejo, a residential area north of Highway 37 and east of Fairgrounds Drive.
Following the shooting, police dispatch received a call from a local hospital reporting that a young juvenile was walked into their emergency department suffering from at least one gunshot wound and was in critical condition.
Vallejo officials later confirmed that the shooting victim was a four-year-old girl.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were being investigated and police did not offer information on any suspect or motive.
There have been no arrests.
