Vacaville Woman Found With Dozens Of Fake IDs, Credit Cards
VACAVILLE (CBS SF) -- A woman suspected of identity theft was arrested after police found dozens of fake ID and credit cards in her Vacaville home.
A victim from Santa Clara had reported a fraudulent purchase using her identity Tuesday investigators determined the suspect was living in Vacaville on the 900 block of El Camino Avenue, according to Vacaville Police.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Christina Wilson. When officers arrived at her home, she gave her name as the name of the Santa Clara victim, according to police.
Inside Wilson's home, officers found more than 25 fake California identification cards with her picture on them, along with more than 25 fraudulent credit cards, police said.
Vacaville Police Lt. Chris Polen said the identity theft cases his department has investigated usually don't involve this magnitude of manufactured ID and credit cards.
"She's either reaching out to other associates or she has some place on the internet where she is receiving them, or she is making them herself," said Polen.
The fake California ID cards all had the same security features found on authentic ID cards, said Polen. "They look realistic enough that if passed at a merchant, they would be accepted," he said.
Wilson was arrested for suspected identity theft, forgery and committing a felony while out on bail.
