Postal Service Truck Overturns In Millbrae, Driver Seriously Injured

MILLBRAE (CBS SF) – A driver of a United States Postal Service truck suffered major injuries when the truck overturned Friday morning in Millbrae, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

CHP officials received a report of the crash at 6:59 a.m. on the Millbrae Avenue off-ramp from southbound U.S. Highway 101.

CHP spokesman Officer Art Montiel said the driver suffered moderate head injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The driver is a Union City man in his early 60s. He lost control of truck and it fell on its side, Montiel said.

Traffic has not been affected much because it's a holiday weekend. The off-ramp has been closed but may open at around 2:00 p.m. after crews move the mail from one truck to another, CHP officials said.

No other vehicles were involved.
