Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake Strikes Off Greek Coast

(CBS SF) – An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 struck the Ionian Sea off the coast of Greece Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake struck about 9:10 a.m. local time Tuesday (about 11:10 p.m. Pacific) near the island of Lefkada, about 180 miles west northwest of Athens.

There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
