UC Berkeley Police On Alert After Students Are Attacked, Robbed On Campus

BERKELEY (CBS SF ) -- Berkeley police were warning students to be on alert after a series of robberies on the UC Berkeley campus.

Three robberies happened between 7:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Saturday night. All of the victims were male students. Two of them suffered minor injuries in the attacks.

The first attack happened to a student walking on the pathway south of the Eucalyptus Grove. The suspect demanded his property and punched him in the face.

The second occurred on Strawberry Creek Bridge near Moffitt Library. Two suspects approached the victim and told him if he didn't hand over his property they would shoot him.

The third robbery happened on Frank Schlessinger Way. Three juveniles, 2 boys and 1 girl, approached the victim. The girl took money from his wallet and one of the boys punched him. Police say the suspects appeared to be 14-16 years of age.

All of the victims were male students. In all three cases UCPD searched the area but could not locate the suspects.
