Uber's On-Demand Kitten Delivery Returns For National Cat Day

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Continuing a tradition started a few years ago, Uber offered on-demand kittens again Thursday for National Cat Day.

People who wanted to cuddle with a furry feline for 15 minutes were able to open the ride-hailing app between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and request the "KITTENS" option.

It's available in San Francisco and several other U.S. cities.

Most of the cats are eligible for adoption.

Part of the $30 "snuggle fee" will go to local animal shelters, including East Bay SPCA, Marin Humane Society and the Peninsula Humane Society.
