Uber Looks To Build New Headquarters In San Francisco's Mission Bay

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – Uber has become the latest company that wants to park its new headquarters in San Francisco's Mission Bay neighborhood.

The ridesharing company is looking to move from their current location on Market Street and build offices on an empty lot located on Third Street, near the proposed Golden State Warriors arena.

Uber's campus would consist of two buildings. The land belonged to Salesforce, but the business software company decided to stay in the South of Market neighborhood, which opened the door for Uber to come in.

Pictures of the proposed headquarters show two buildings with plenty of glass. A bridge would link the two buildings. The headquarters would have a path for pedestrians and potentially some space for shops on the lower level.

If completed, the headquarters would house 3,000 employees.

Construction could start as early as this fall. Uber wants to move in by the end of 2017 and no later than 2018.
