Two Arrested After Shooting At Walmart In San Leandro; 1 Suspect Injured

SAN LEANDRO (KCBS) — Police  are investigating a shooting inside a Walmart store Sunday night that left one person injured.

The Walmart store located at 1919 Davis St. was preparing to close just before midnight when, according to witnesses, at least shots rang out from the front.

People ran to the back of the store for safety as unarmed security guards tried to intervene.

Two suspects were taken into custody by police with one of them being transported to the hospital with an unknown condition of injuries. Detectives have determined that there is not a third, outstanding suspect, as previously reported during a Monday morning press conference.

The store opened Monday morning at 6 a.m. but employees and vendors were not allowed to speak to reporters.

Walmart managers directed KCBS to their headquarters in Arkansas headquarters for information and San Leandro police have not yet returned phone calls.

The store opened, as usual, on Monday at 6 a.m.
