In recent years, Hollywood filmmakers used San Francisco as a back drop for many disasters movies. In the upcoming "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" and it's prequel, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" the human apocalypse was centralized at a bio-tech firm south of San Francisco. Another San Francisco disaster scene came to us from "X-Men: The Last Stand" which depicts the mutant "Magneto" lifting the Golden Gate Bridge and smashing it on top of Alcatraz.
