Three Men Barricaded Themselves In Richmond Home After Police Pursuit In Stolen Vehicle

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Three men were arrested after they were spotted in stolen vehicle, led police on a pursuit and barricaded themselves for several hours inside a home in Richmond on Wednesday, a police lieutenant said.

Detectives observed a stolen Honda at Marina Way South and Ohio Avenue around 11:10 a.m., Lt. Al Walle said.

The detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Honda but the suspect driver failed to yield and led them on a pursuit, Walle said.

The pursuit ended when the Honda drove in the wrong direction on westbound Interstate Highway 580, he said.

About an hour later, officers found the Honda abandoned in the 100 block of South 17th Street and surrounded a nearby home where the suspects were inside, according to Walle.

A SWAT team was called to the scene to assist officers as they surrounded the home throughout the afternoon and into the evening, he said.

The suspects, three men ages 30, 19 and 18, eventually surrendered at about 7:20 p.m., Walle said.
