PG&E Equipment Failure Cuts Power To Thousands In SF Bernal Heights Neighborhood

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Roughly 4,000 power customers in and around San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood lost electricity Sunday morning after a PG&E equipment failure, according to utility officials.

The outage was reported at 8:32 a.m., after an unspecified equipment failure in the vicinity of 25th Street and Potrero Avenue. The cause of the equipment failure remains under investigation.

As of 10:30 a.m., PG&E spokesman J.D. Guidi said that service had been restored to all but 190 customers. There was no estimate for when those customers will have their power turned back on.
