Thieves Use Van To Rip ATM Machine Out Of Sonoma County Gas Station

SHELLVILLE (CBS) -- Thieves pried open the doors of a Sonoma County service station and used a van to steal an ATM early Saturday.

The Sonoma County Sherriff's office received notice of an alarm activation at about 4:00 a.m. a 76 Station located at 23003 Arnold Dr., in Shellville.

When deputies arrived they found the front doors had been forced open and the ATM removed from it's floor mount inside the business.

Surveillance tapes revealed the thieves tied straps around the machine and hooked it to a stolen van to rip it from the wall. Then they loaded it into the van and sped away.

Police set up a multi-county "road block" but the suspects were still at large with the machine.

The van was described as a Per scanner the van is a stolen Kelly Moore Painting van.
