Tesla Turned To Smoking Wreck After Catching Fire At Norway Supercharger Station

GJERSTAD, Norway (CBS SF) -- Car fires aren't all that uncommon, but there's something about the sight of a burned up Tesla that gets people's attention on social media.  It was no different after a Model S burned to the ground in Norway while juicing up at a Supercharger Station.

The car was left to charge Friday in the town of Gjerstad in Southern Nowway when the car caught fire, Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.  Tesla is also looking into the cause, and said it is safe to use their other charging stations in Norway.
