Teens Rescued After Car Plunges Off Cliff In Oakland Hills

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two teenagers were rescued Sunday afternoon after a vehicle went over a cliff late in the Oakland Hills, according to fire officials.

The first report of the crash came in at 11:38 a.m. at Fish Ranch Road and Grizzly Peak Boulevard.

Police and fire rescue teams pulled the two teens from the bottom of a ravine after the car veered off the road, and rolled several times.

"We had a team on top who was in charge of the systems and a rescue team below and so they communicated with one another to go down the embankment package the patients and get them ready to be extricated," Zoraida Diaz of the Oakland Fire Department said.

Both teens were airlifted to an area hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
