Teenager Injured In Shooting Near Santa Rosa Coddingtown Mall

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Santa Rosa police are investigating a shooting that injured a teenager near the Coddingtown Shopping Center on Monday night, a police sergeant said.

The 18-year-old victim said he was walking alone in the 2000 block of Range Avenue in Santa Rosa around 7:30 p.m. when a car stopped and several occupants got out, Sgt. Lisa Banayat said.

One of the vehicle's occupants shot the man in the upper leg and the suspects fled in a late 1990s to early 2000s black 4-door Nissan, Banayat said.

The shooting victim called for a ride home and once his ride arrived he was taken to a hospital where police interviewed him around 8:30 p.m.

The suspects are still at large and it is unknown if the shooting is gang related, Banayat said.
