Teen Stabbed Outside Of Concord Apartment Complex

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A man stabbed a 17-year-old boy outside of a Concord apartment complex Wednesday morning, a police lieutenant said.

Around 8:40 a.m., a man confronted the teen on the sidewalk near the driveway of the Grove Gardens apartment complex at 1060 Oak Grove Road and stabbed him, Concord police Lt. Robin Heinemann said.

The man fled on foot and remains at large.

Police say the victim did know the suspect, who is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic man who stands about 6 feet tall with a thin build.

The teen was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for a stab wound to the lower abdomen. He is expected to survive.

Police did not say what type of weapon was used and Heinemann said investigators have not determined a motive for the attack.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Concord police at (925) 671-3030.
