17-Year-Old Boy Dies In Shooting At Richmond Apartment Complex

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Police are investigating a Friday-night shooting at a Richmond apartment complex that left a 17-year-old boy dead, according to police.

Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the Bella Vista Apartments at 3400 Richmond Parkway on a report of multiple shots fired in the area, Lt. Felix Tan said.

Upon arrival, officers found a teen victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as Richmond resident Chrisean Nealy, was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to Tan.

After conducting a preliminary investigation, officers determined Nealy was not a resident at the apartment complex. Investigators believe he may have been targeted, according to Tan.

No arrest has been made in the shooting and no suspect information was immediately available.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Richmond police Detective Dan Wellhausen at (510) 620-6860.
